Please read through the following to make sure you know when you need to attend rehearsals, and what your time commitment will be on Show Day. Performers are encouraged to watch the technical rehearsal from the audience seats. The Dress Rehearsal is in costume at Nellie Hall. The Technical Rehearsal needs a minimum of one person in costume (more is better) to set the lights. So if you have a few costume changes, you can probably skip some during the tech run if you feel confident you can change in time.

Please complete your Performer Registration by 12 April (Intermediate/Advanced Classes), by 10 May (for Soloists), or by 14 June (Beginner and Child/Youth Performers) - or earlier if you can! Confirmation of date/time of your private session will be sent on 21 June via email with your Rehearsal Term Fees and costume hire. You can find the available dates and times for private check-in sessions below.

REHEARSAL TERM
This is a 4-week short term before the show. The below sessions happen in Weeks 1, 2 and 4. Dress Rehearsals are in Week 3. Please note there is a Staging Rehearsal for the 'Penultimate Dance' at the end of Term 2; 6:30pm on Thursday 4th July.

TECHNICAL REHEARSAL & SHOW DAY

PRIVATE CHECK-IN SESSIONS

Please select your session time with your Performer Registration. You can have one 20min Personal Rehearsal Time, or you can join with others for a 40min Group Rehearsal (2-4 people). This is included in your Term 3 Rehearsal Term fee and will help you work on sections of dances or technique you feel unsure about.

COSTUMING

Please include any additional costume hire requirements with your Performer Registration to ensure we have time to make or source costumes for you.

Some dances will have full costumes provided for a small hire fee of $5-20 per costume set, to a maximum of $60 so that it doesn’t get too expensive if you’re doing a lot of dances.

These hire fees allow the school to continue to make these items available for student use, keep them in good repair, replace where necessary and ensure that we have an appropriate number and variety of sizes available for performance. It is ultimately less expensive than making or buying your own costumes that you may not use again. If you would like to make your own rather than hire, please talk to Sam about patterns, fabrics and materials to ensure you will match the rest of your class.

Please check the documents on TeamApp to see what you should wear for your dance. If you're not sure, please ask! If a costume is not specified as “can be provided” it probably still can be - just check with Sam. Things like body stockings, or specifically decorated bras may not be available.

If you would like help sewing your own costumes, come along to the crafternoons to copy patterns or get some assistance/advice. Make sure to RSVP on TeamApp so I can make sure there is space for you!

DANCE CHOICES

Please check through the Draft Set List (VERSION 1) below (or for more detail - with times - in the documents on TeamApp) before selecting your dances. You will need to make sure you can get changed if you need to. One dance is generally enough for a simple change - a more dramatic change will need extra time. If you're not sure, talk to Sam about it before completing your registration. There may be some changes to the order once we have registrations completed.
